CAREFULLY READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES PRIOR TO USE.

The RockSteady® Clip’s Safe And Intended Use As A Drywall Stabilizing Device Is To Keep Drywall Secured In A Leaning Position So That It Cannot Be Pulled Forward.
WARNING. Do Not Use The RockSteady® Clip Except In Accordance With These Instructions and Guidelines:

The RockSteady® Clip is designed for attachment to a framed wall structure of wood or steel providing that the minimum wood stud is at least 2” x 4” or greater and the minimum steel stud is 25 gauge or thicker under the following conditions:

Prior to stacking drywall sheets on or against any structure, inspect and reinforce as necessary to support the loads imposed by drywall sheets.

Floors or walls can be damaged or may fail if not designed to support the superimposed load.

The RockSteady® Clip is intended to stabilize drywall sheets only when stacked against a structure designed to support the superimposed load.

Place one clip every 6 feet and not less than 2 feet from end of drywall sheet. Sheets over 12 feet require two clips.

Always match Clip size to drywall thickness. Use 1/2” Clip with 1/2” drywall. Use 5/8” Clip with 5/8” drywall.

Re-Use of RockSteady® Clip

Re-use of the RockSteady® Clip is strictly limited to the following conditions:
PRIOR TO RE-USE, ALWAYS INSPECT ALL PARTS OF THE DEVICE FOR VISIBLE SIGNS OF WEAR, DAMAGE OR MISSING PARTS. DISCARD AND DO NOT RE-USE ANY ROCKSTEADY® CLIP WITH SIGNS OF WEAR, DAMAGE OR MISSING PARTS.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious harm or injury.

Step 1

With a screw gun, drive the screw at eye end of cable through the eye into the side* of the framing stud.

IMPORTANT: Keep the screw and cable level with the top edge of drywall, no less than 1” from outside edge of framing.

Step 2

Place clip over outermost sheet on stack with the warning label clearly visible. No space should remain between clip and drywall edge.

Pull cable tight while driving down the set screw.

Ensure that the set screw is completely compressed and tightened with the cable pinched between the set screw head and the top of the RockSteady® Clip.

IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten screw.

*Alternate Attachment Method

When job conditions do not permit installation of cable screw into the side of framing stud, use the following method for front face attachment:

Step 1

With a screw gun, drive the screw at eye end of cable through the eye into center and front face of framing stud.

Place one clip every 6 feet and not less than 2 feet from end of drywall sheet.

ALL SHEETS INSTALLED WITH FRONT FACE ATTACHMENT METHOD REQUIRE TWO CLIPS.

IMPORTANT: Keep the screw and cable level with the top edge of drywall.
Proceed with Step 2 above.

Installation Tips

Vertically stacked drywall must always be placed four to six inches from the wall at the bottom of the stack.

Verify distance with a measuring tape, ruler or measurement template to ensure proper lean. Placing drywall sheets against a wall with a lean of less than four inches creates a serious tipping hazard. Placing sheets with greater than a 6” lean can cause significant lateral pressure and cause structural failure.

Installation Equipment:

We recommend the use of a Drill/Driver or Screwgun, 12 Volt or higher, with a torque setting. Compact models with reduced battery pack size make it easier to install eye-end of cable level with the top of drywall sheets. Alternately, use a measurement template and install eye-end screw prior to placement of drywall sheets against framed wall.

“Right-Size”cable prior to placing clip over drywall sheet.

From front of clip, push or pull up to loosen cable and minimize resistance when shortening or lengthening cable. This will save installation time and lessen the natural curling tendency of the cable.

Provided eye-end screw is self-tapping for metal studs. When installing screw to wood framing, use drill or screw gun to create a small pilot hole prior to installing screw.

Prior to removing clip from last sheet in the stack, carefully back out set screw just far enough to allow removal without disengaging screw from the clip. Repeat the same action when removing eye-end screw from stud.

Secure. Warn. Protect.

The RockSteady® Clip prevents accidents by protecting jobsite visitors and contractors from the potential harm of falling drywall. It does this by securing sheets of drywall, leaned against a wall, into a stabilized stack. After installation, the clip offers round the clock protection for workers and visitors from the hazard of incidental or accidental stack tip-over.
